I enTREAT you to send me some TREAT recipes... Basically, could you just send me some vegan dessert recipes?

This morning I sat under the bodhi tree (well, it was actually a maple tree or a pine tree or maybe even a telephone pole-- basically, it was just a tall object that I can't identify, but that I know is not a bodhi tree because, well, come on-- Orem isn't known for bodhi trees, but it is known for telephone poles, which is actually a lie. It isn't known for telephone poles at all. It is known for strip malls and Bunko parties.) and ate a vegan feast of seitan and quinoa and peppers and onions and teriyaki sauce. It was just microwaved leftovers, but eating it in a park underneath the bodi telephone pole (and uncomfortably close to the restrooms and small children) while reading Buddhist scriptures was just shy of nirvana. Lovely.

Now if only I could have had a vegan dessert to go with my reheated grub...

Does anyone have any delicious and EASY vegan dessert recipes? I emphasize easy for a reason. I would much rather have the dessert be disgusting and easy than delicious and complicated. "Complicated" to me, by the way, means more than, oh, five ingredients. I'm not going to be winning any baking contests anytime soon.

IF YOU READ NOTHING ELSE, READ THIS: SEND ME VEGAN DESSERT RECIPES! ALSO, DO YOU REMEMBER THE TELEVISION SHOW MY TWO DADS? WITH PAUL REISER? WTF? OR NIGHT COURT? WITH THAT MAGICIAN JUDGE AND THE BALD DUDE? WTF? WWJW? WHAT WOULD JESUS WATCH?

  1. ok. best treat right now: go to rooster and get a cantaloupe boba. my good lord. but a recipe for cooking? get a pack of ghiradelli semisweet chocolate chips and follow the recipe on the back. replace the eggs w/ ground flax seed and water (1 TBSP flax seed 2 TBSP hot water per egg) and replace the butter w/ earth balance or some other vegan fat (i used coconut oil on sunday and it was AMAZING). i usually add some peanut butter and oatmeal to make it bind a little better, and then throw in whatever else sounds good (slivered almonds, coconut, etc.)

    delicious.

  3. Vegan dessert:
cut a one inch diameter hole through an apple, preferably from top to bottom, removing the stem and bottom thing. Peel one banana. Place peeled banana all the way through the apple's hole, so banana sticks out of hole equal parts on both sides. then eat. and enjoy.

  4. meggie is right about the vegan ice cream, but let me make you aware of a real jesus of a treat: COCONUT MILK ICE CREAM. good. lord. pretty much anything the so delicious brand makes is heavenly, but the stuff they make w/ coconut milk is divine! (especially the coconut flavor).

  5. Thanks for the recipes/ideas! I remember trying some yogurt made with coconut milk and it was so incredible. CHRIS, that sounds like a great dessert. I am going to try it, but I will probably screw it up. I suck.
